We all took a walk over the Links, to the tailor who mended a couple of blouses yesterday. Swift service! We dandered over, Archie taking his time, but not stopping and sitting down. I now have several new tops to add to my capture wardrobe. And I didn't need to buy anything!
Arch and I walked back slowly, and JR went on down to Waitrose to purchase something for tonight's visit to our neighbours. I didn't watch any tennis. I can't be doing with doubles, and all that whispering and fist bumping at every.single.shot. And then the actual game is over in a few seconds. Also, not really interested in wheelchair tennis - sorry. But I did do half an hour on the bike, while watching another in the series '10 Photos' of famous people. I got half an hour of Amy Winehouse.
Later, we popped to the neighbours round the other corner - they have a gorgeous seating area in their back garden. The Great Big Canadian Pine is there, planted as a wee Christmas tree by their neighbour 25 years ago. But it doesn't affect their sunshine, like it does in our back garden. Though nothing grows underneath it, and huge great roots extend across their 'lawn'.
PS having been round to the neighbours, it seems that they brought up the subject of THE TREE at their last soirée, and the culprit seemed to take note, when our friends mentioned how all the gardens to the east of it are affected... Watch this space!
The women's final was a big disappointment. Didn't watch it.
