Early start with OH rubbing down the window and jet washing the porch (before hose pipe ban).  I did a few hours in the garden before it got too hot again.  

We had contemplated the OAC but for a few reasons, price, heat, crowds and walk from car park, decided to leave it this year.  I had also heard that music was being dummed down (my words) and less or no classical and no 1812 overture finale again.  So, decided to leave it this year, maybe next?
After 15 years of my favourite event of the LC calendar it is not the same so maybe just best to keep the memories?

We decided on a beach afternoon instead.  We packed the car and realised that I did not re-order a cool box after throwing the old one out!  However found something which did the trick in the garage.  No.2 messaged and apologised that he would not be joining us at the OAC and I swiftly told him the change of plans and he decided on a few hours at the beach with us.

It was cooler than inland due to a sea breeze and the sea looked full of gunk so we didn't swim but whiled away a few hours listening to the waves (and a family near us where the Father f'd and jeffed at the young child .........some people, you wonder how she will grow up if all she hears is her Father swearing?)

We decided against fish and chips on the beach but got home, emptied the car, watered the tomatoes and OH drove out for one portion shared between us.

Day done.
