Ladybird and Friend
While walking around Woolbeding Gardens yesterday I lost the CPL filter off my camera lens. I did retrace some of my steps and have a quick hunt around, but as the filter was many many years old, rather clunky and I needed a step-up ring for it (which hadn't screwed in properly so why I lost it) I decided to invest in a new one. In fact I got a set with UV, CPL and 10-stop magnetically fitting filters which will properly fit both the main lenses on my little Olympus, so very happy - even after the missing filter turned up, having been handed into the reception desk!
I had a quick try out today in the garden and spotted this ladybird on an echinops thistle bud, with a tiny friend. I don't know what the bug is, and it's slightly out of focus as I didn't spot it until uploading to the computer.
Apart from redrawing the second image for my online urban sketching course ('nough said about the first attempt!) and some shopping, that was about all I did on another very hot day in southern England. Tomorrow should be a bit cooler. (As I upload this a day later ... it's not!)
