FIRE

Went over to see Mum today.  Thank heavens for air conditioning in the car, I wouldn't have been able to go if we didn't have that.  Also managed to park under te shelter of a tree, which is rare.

On the way there we noticed ow dark cloud, but first of all thought it was just dark clouds getting ready for the rain that is due, bug it got stronger the further to Morecambe we got.  After coming off the M6 at Junction 34 and going down The Bay Gateway, we saw this right at the end where the road ahead goes to Heysam, the left to Lancaster and the right to Morecambe.  We wondered why the queue for turning into Morecambe was backed up onto the main road, which has never happened before.  Then I noticed the Police Car and you could see roughly where the fire was.  Fire on White Lund Indusrial Estate

Apparently it was on Northgate on the White Lund Industrial Estate at a place called DCL Logistics, right next to Bookers.  I have no idea  how it started or how bad it was, I just hope no-on was hurt.

It only held us up for a little while, not too bad at all.  We didn't know until we got there that it had not long since started just before we got there people were being advised to stay away from the area if they could - well too late for us.  Apparently ASDA lost their lights and power to the tills and it affected quite a few properties.  Luckily Mum lives just that little bit further on so apart from seeing the smoke wasn't affected by it, thank heavens.

By the time we came away the smoke had gone and the roads were all back to normal.  Still don't know what happened but the authorities did a grand job and certainly didn't take too long in getting the roads back to normal again, especially as there is a big Music festival on in Morecambe t his weekend, so very well done to them.

I'm still sweltering in the heat but taking my little fan everywhere with me and leaving the big one in the lounge.  Apparently its meant to be quite a bit cooler tomorrow with some rain, I so hope that's true as I find the heat is so wearing and debilitating.

Do take care, stay cool if you can, rest a lot and drink lots of water.
