Hidey Hole

Who knows how many years ago this hole was chewed through the cabinet door that stands next to one of our fireplaces?

Some mouse from the dim, distant past obviously spent quite some time gnawing away to make this convenient bolt-hole for itself. I'm happy to report that there are no furry residents enjoying purloined cheese behind the door these days ... although descendants of the hole-chewer are still furtively stashing dog food in kitchen drawers from time to time!

This is one more quirky thing about the old house that I love.
