So here you have salad (celery, cucumber, scallions fg, spuds fg, tomatoes, olives, feta, garlic) made for Men’s Final today. Liz is coming over with Wexford Strawberries and this cream chantilly thing she does. She’s backing Carlos; I’m backing Jannik. He was robbed in Paris and he will be hungry for revenge.

I had a great day yesterday and a little tired today. Nonetheless I still managed an 8am swim because my pals all wanted to hear about my adventures.

Since then I had a lovely long breakfast and coffee and read the papers. So my only exertion today is making this tasty salad. Dressing made with good quality olive oil and lime juice (Jean’s culinary tip).

By the way fg stands for ‘from garden’. The Under Gardener has spoken.

Thank you for great comments on yesterday. I hope no one mistook my general exuberance for flippancy. I will reply to all comments but not now as it’s just 4 and Liz has just arrived and said she’s so hungry she’d eat the leg offa the table.
