My Life With Luna

By chrisA

No sunshine today, just grey cloud and a mere 24 degrees, although it's very humid.    I decided to cut the grass on the river banks this afternoon and noticed this pretty pink/lilac flower near the Purple Loisestrife.    Plantnet tells me it's Marsh Woundwort.   Historically it has medicinal properties, the leaves being applied to wounds to stem bleeding and the sap taken for internal bleeding.   The tuberous roots are edible and can be used as a substitute for asparagus.    I don't like asparagus so I won't be experimenting!!
