A queue at the locks

Early this morning before it got too hot I went for a walk along the canal. I've been doing this walk for about 35 years and have never seen so many boats.  There are two locks which are quite close together and boats were queued at both and in both directions.

I got chatting to one man who said that the boat hire companies were telling customers not to go in the popular LLangollen International Eisteddfod (which finishes today) as they wouldn't be able to moor, so they came this way.

Another man said that they had been going along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal but a stretch was closed so they came here too.

Theymust have ended up queuing for hours as it takes a long time for a lock to fill.  I liked the headgear that this man was wearing!
