Common Carder Bee

It’s been a busy day of tennis watching but fortunately not as hot.  I did change the bedding this morning and that was dried in no time.

Our new neighbours have gone to Crete for ten days and I noticed they had left a bathroom window open.  Fortunately JJ has a long brush with a pole on it.  Wrong, JJ has a long pole with a brush on it and was able to reach to push it shut.  I haven’t messaged them as I don’t want to spoil their holiday.

Two hurricanes flew over for our local show and banked right over the garden.  No camera to hand.

I saw a couple of wasps drowning in the bird bath and tried to blow them to the side.  Unfortunately the larger of the two then proceeded to drown the other one.

The bees and hoverflies are enjoying the last of the toadflax.
