(191) Moving With The Times
The Whitby Brewery is a regular haunt for us when in Whitby and although the beers they make and sell are entirely decent, their range has slightly fallen behind the times in terms of beer styles on offer. All change this year though with the addition of several new beers, including a nitro stout, a Bavarian-style weiss bier and, of particular interest to me, a NEIPA. I had to have a couple of pints of Fossil Fuel for QA purposes and, so far, it's a thumbs up from me, though obviously not when I'm holding a pint or else I'd spill it. The Gothic Stout has been on the go for a few years now and also hits the spot.
Extra today is from an earlier visit to the abbey headland to capture some views with the flying camera. Image is a three-frame pano stitch looking back towards the town, with the abbey and brewery just visible on the left. Although Whitby is on the east coast, the piers actually face due north. For this reason, during the summer months it is possible to view a sunrise and sunset over these from both piers.
