Too Darned Hot!

I’m breaking the rules today and posting a photo from last Thursday, the 10th, when I was at the beach reveling in cool, clear weather. I didn’t get photos of anything outside today. This afternoon the high hit 94F a perfect day to be inside.. I watered the gardens early then dove into my new project - creating a place to make art in my office.

I doubt that I’ve talked much about my artistic background. Art (and photography) has been around longer in my life than plants and gardening have, although it’s a close second. My college degrees are in art -under grad is in visual art and master’s is education based. Over the years, my practice, if I had one, ebbed and flowed, depending on circumstances. I’ve recently been inspired by a dear friend to delve back into art-making, and have decided to take it seriously. I’m finally at a place in my life where I have the time and motivation. But the office needed an overhaul!

The entire project hinged on moving one IKEA large bookcase out of the office and finding space for it in the living room. Needless to say that required a complete re-do of the living room! There was only one place it could possibly go so that dictated the movement of all of the other furniture.

Suffice it to say that it took me all day but the living room looks terrific and the office is a mess. I’ve moved the furniture around and I love it!

More soon. Tonight I’m eating dinner in my courtyard, enjoying the very warm night. And I’ve posted this gorgeous photo of Gearhart beach because, well, I don’t have any other photos!
