BACK BLIP #9

Sluice Box is the name given to the bridge and the narrow gap below which is between two hills - Marble Hill and the ridge coming down at the end of Alfred River Valley.

It is a short walk through pretty native bush from the carpark to this bridge.  Below is the Maruia River with its beautiful turquoise water.

This is another photo giving you a glimpse of the natural beauty found in NZ as we drove from Hanmer Springs to home at the Top of the South Island.

The adorable and friendly bird in extra is the South Island Robin. At each stop we made in the Lewis Pass we were soon joined by this delightful bird - not frightened at all and often so close it would have been possible to reach out and touch it.
