After the beautiful weather yesterday it has been a day of showers today.

I have decided to add photos taken yesterday of the local gold course which also suffered from too much water during Friday’s excessive rain. 

Pump motors could be heard as we walked along the walking / cycling path at the Kumeras. They were working hard to remove mini lakes which provided lovely reflections, but of course they wouldn’t be a welcome addition for those wanting to enjoy the game.

These two photos show flooding in a pretty setting. What isn’t shown is the heartbreaking  devastation many people are facing in the outer areas of Motueka and surrounds. Several homes have been given red stickers while others have been given the lesser colour of yellow. Many have lost all their belongings when flood waters flowed through their homes.
