Let the trumpets sound!

Another performer has joined the garden orchestra!  My Trumpet Vine is blooming.  I used to get a good view of it from above when I was using the second floor of the house but now, I have to wait until a branch hangs down to see the red/orange trumpets.  We had a lovely Trumpet Vine at my childhood home.  They are the favorite of Hummingbirds although I've seen few Hummers this year. While it is safe for the Hummers, gardeners should wear gloves handling it as it can cause rashes.  Three days of heat beginning today.  We desperately need rain.
