Team of Synchronised Water Handstanders

What a brilliant idea! Have an early swim, walk 100yds to the Golf Club house and have breakfast where meals are being served this week from 7:30am to cater for the golfers taking part in the Island Games.

There we are in the photo, the Orkney team of Synchronised Water Handstanders,  waiting for our breakfast orders. There were very many plates of  scrambled eggs and salmon although my choice was granola with fresh fruit and yoghurt. What a pity they don’t do this all year round. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be in winter to have a chilly dip and then have a hot breakfast? The downside would be getting properly dressed after the swim in order not to offend any golfers present. I had a bit of a heads up on the Selkies today since this is what I always have to do at Porty in order to bus home whereas the ladies here just have to put on their dry robes and jump into their cars, a case of dry robes and nae drawers!

It is another good day here , breezy but still sunny and warm. There was a thick haar  very early before the cock crowed but sometime between then and going forth into the day, it disappeared. It seems the inter island weather gods are cooperating with the games.
