Tenuous
As we planned last week, Ruby (after having an MRI on her back first thing) picked me up and we drove to Salford University.
She had arranged with a tutor that we could practice our forthcoming dance in a studio there.
We met her tutor and she showed us the small theatre room where we will be examined and explained about the lighting, seating and acoustics that Ruby can employ on the day , we are booked in for a 90 minute tech session on the morning of the exam as part of her Masters.
We then went up to the 6th ( or maybe 7th) floor and found the small studio. It might be classed as small but it was a heck of a lot bigger than her kitchen where we usually rehearse.
She gave us about an hour and a half to test out the space and ideas then came back to watch us . To say l was nervous was an understatement.
Her feedback was constructive and gave us ( Ruby really) a lot of ideas to work on . Her main point , and l agreed with her , was that while l am dancing at my optimum, Ruby is holding back in consideration for me.
The tutor and l both agreed Ruby should show what she is capable of and go for it!
Back to the kitchen tomorrow.
My mono is not on theme but Ruby is stood as strong and still as a statue and statues can be made of stone- right?
Very tenuous:-))
