Boat McBoatface*

What a difference a day makes! Very heavy rain, wind and the odd rumble of thunder last night followed by more of the same with some mad bursts of sunshine too! And a lot cooler,
I went into Skibbereen in search of some sandals . I have one pair, and on inspection have discovered that they are pretty threadbare and may not pass muster for the South of France - next week! There is only one shoe shop in Skibb and they fortuitously had 20% off Birkenstocks - still outrageously expensive but a purchase was made. Not glamorous but clean and comfortable!
I stopped off in Schull on the way home looking for some wrapping paper - no luck so I went to look for a bit of stone for today's MM challenge. This old church is in an amazing position looking out across the harbour. It is now ruined but is surrounded by a large graveyard, still in use. What's especially interesting about it is the ship graffiti scratched onto the walls of what was once the porch.  Fiendishly hard to photograph!  These were probably done in the 18th century and as talismans, to bring good luck to the fishermen of the village. Schull is still a very boaty sort of place - see extra as a massive dark cloud was approaching from Mount Gabriel!
*remember this?!
