MGRC fund-raising event

Sunday started early with a meet up with the lovely MLaM for a walk at Tollesbury. We walked round the sea-wall around the light boat before swimming in WoodupPool and sharing foraged cherries and gifted seed cake. A morning to satisfy our senses: tasty food, beautiful sky and landscape, sound of skylarks, cool water swim and smell of coffee/tea ... perfect.

Back in time for Junior parkrun in the role of Marshal. Opportunity to share details of parkrun with an interested passer-by and  grateful parents and children making it worthwhile. Tea and tales of the silent Ambassador in the Lake Cafe with A and C.

The afternoon I went for a Gig row round Northey Island. We went anticlockwise and met up with Victory half way round. The good weather brought out a few power craft and we had to ask them to move off our jetty when we returned.  A very polite exchange, so no problem.

After the row we all met up in the boat yard for an afternoon and evening fundraising get together and burger. Much chatter, a raffle and payment for the meal all raised sufficient funds for a much needed new boat cover. A very successful event.
