Flying Away
[Backblip]. Its a lovely final day. We woke up and finished the packing (according to my scales, my suitcase is just under the limit). We then had breakfast and then loaded the car up.
Jaldert, one of the guys from Living Waters Veenendaal, got a lift with us to church. Little Man went to the Sunday school and had a lot of fun there. There wasn't a sermon, but testimonies of how the conference went.
We then went into Peel to get ice cream. A lovely final treat together. We dropped Jaldert back at the farm before heading towards the airport. We had time and thus, were able to take our time getting there and unloading the car. It was bitter sweet, Caleb has grown so much and really changed, in a good way, since he came to the Isle of Man. I'm incredibly proud of him and the changes I've seen in him over the last five days.
We then dropped our suitcase off (which was definitely under the weight limit), and were allowed to do so 15 minutes before check-in officially opened. The security was stricter than I've seen in an airport in a long, long time. It was the first time I was asked to gake my analogue wrist watch off, to out through the x-ray machines, I was also asked if I've ever been asked to take my braclets off (I wear three silver bracelets on my right wrist), which I answered "no". They didn't make me take them off.
I'd requested assistance for the pushchair as I didn't fancy carrying it down a flight of stairs or two. So I skipped having my luggage checked, for size, by the ground crew. The pushchair was put into the hold of the plane, at the door. We were amongst the first to board. Little Man was amazing and watched his programs all the way to Gatwick. He wasn't impressed when I turned it off.
We're spending the next 11 days with a lovely couple, Melanie and Molcolm, who go to one of F12 congregations in Horsham. Melanie picked us up from the airport and we drove back to her place, which is going to give us a base whilst we're in England.
