Wolfe Island

It's very peaceful here... well, except for some joyful noise from the children in Steve's greater family, who are on the dock, playing & jumping in the river! We have our own cottage on the same property, but there is also the Big House where Steve's grandmother was born (with many rooms & beds) and 2 other cottages here along the ST Lawrence River. 

We made a list of Steve's family last year. I "interviewed" various members of the family to fill in the blanks. We had made a list previously in 2005 while on our honeymoon here, but many of the kids had grown up, married and had lots of children since then. The count? The list includes those who have passed and spouses, but it numbers around 230 people!! 

Steve's dad was one of 5, and collectively they had 20 children. Those children collectively had, or married into (like Steve) 60 children ... And this goes on, with many of that generation having lots of kids too. One of Steve's cousins is a great-grandma. To make this more understandable, some of Steve's cousins had 8-10 children and many had 3 or 4. 

:⁰) It's lovely to have such a beautiful place to visit where such a large family who lives all over the world can connect. I'm happy to be a part of it! There's an  extra photo, one Steve took of me on our walk today...
