Gooseberry Jelly
I was panicking that I had too few small jars for this batch of jelly. I ate the contents of a jar of marinated herring from IKEA and emptied a jar of capers, Miss Flum had similarly emptied a jar of jam but we left it at her house by mistake.
But I needn't have worried as I overestimated the yield and had sundry oddments left unused. I was afraid that I had underestimated the setting point but it appears that I have, at least, a soft set.
But the jewel-like colour is lovely and the flavour is amazing - sweet and tangy.
Tonight we used the last of the fruit as good old Gooseberry Fool, the pureed fruit blended with custard and great dollops of extra-thick cream. Yum and double yum!
