The Gloves Are Off

Saturday. Thankfully, the weekend is here, and it’s a pretty quiet one. Vanessa is working in Folkestone this weekend, and Milo’s at work this morning. I woke very early and got up for a while, but then managed to get a few more hours of sleep. I spent the morning happily pottering with a bit of photography and gaming, while catching up with documentaries on my YouTube ‘Watch Later’ list. It was another very hot day—although from talking to friends in Canterbury, it seems our location, only a few kilometres from the Dover cliffs, kept us comfortably cool with a fresh sea breeze. I squeezed in a quick walk along the lanes in the afternoon. For supper, I made a huge pot of chicken Balti with pilau rice, thinking there would be plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. I was wrong.
