Another pause in seemingly incessant rain
I walked from the unit into Pukekawa (Auckland Domain) to buy a sandwich for lunch. About halfway to the Domain Kiosk I felt the first big drops of rain. I was able to gain shelter from a big old Pohutukawa tree. Being close to the trunk protected me from the wind and wind-driven rain. I was also able to find overhead shelter from one of the very big branches. I made a dash across to the kiosk when the rain was lighter.
Ordered a large sandwich and a coffee. I hadn't eaten much when I realised that the rain had stopped. Anticipating only a short break, I asked for and got a paper bag for my sandwich, left the coffee and returned to my office to enjoy my lunch.
I was interrupted repeatedly. At least I was dry (ish)
Worked late. Typing reports took longer than it should, as I made little mistakes which had to be corrected. Left with enough time to get to Grafton Station before the next train would arrive. It was irritating to watch the electronic display tell us the next train heading west would arrive in 4 minutes.
The posted time it was due to arrive gradually fell, only to abruptly go from Now to 5 minutes. Then the train did come. In all this confusion, it seemed that one train had disappeared.
Waiting for S to arrive I had to move quickly into shelter as the rain returned and was very heavy. It was then that I noticed the sky and had today's Blip
