You must be quackers

Today didn't turn out as I had planned.  I had a call from the repairers to say my car was ready.  So it was off to drop the hire care back, and then pick my car up.  They have done a great job.  As I was driving it home however....no....not another accident, but it went into emergency mode.  This has happened before when there has been a bit of dirt in the fuel.  Maggy and I had a visit at the hospital and fortunately, by the time I got home and then restarted, only the engine warning light was on and it was driving normally.   I checked the manual and it told me to drive at 60 kph in S mode for 15 minutes and the hot engine should burn it off.   It hasn't so I will see what happens in the morning and if the same, call the mechanic.  The mallard here was taken down at Swansea when I took the car for the drive as recommended in the manual.  It's been a very dull and grey day today with splutterings of rain.

I spent half an hour on the phone to the insurer trying to sort out getting my excess back.   I think I spoke to people in call centres in the Philippines and then India but they have assured me it has been done now.  I am amazed that I kept my super polite voice on after being asked for the same details three times and being put on hold twice.  Sigh.  No point being rude to these people, they are just doing their job and in the end I got a result.
