Three tiny ducks…
Or are they geese? Tamara has a degree of poetic licence when creating her post box toppers; or maybe I’m just not good at recognising what sort of bird it is:-( But I do recognise the really tiny yellow chick.
So for once I’ve managed to find something Tiny for Tiny Tuesday.
And my saying today is’teaching the 3 Rs’
The saying "teaching the three Rs" refers to the fundamentals of education: reading, writing, and arithmetic. The phrase originated from a humorous mispronunciation of these terms, where the "r" sound was emphasised in each word. While the exact origin is debated, it's often attributed to Sir William Curtis, a British politician, who is said to have proposed a toast to the "three Rs" around 1807. The term became popular in the early 19th century and continues to be used to refer to the core skills taught in elementary education.
