We did the last school run of this school year for granddaughter Amelia! After we continued to Tongwynlais (Cardiff, South Wales, UK) to do a round trip twenty one mile cycle ride to Penarth.
The ride along the Taff Trail was in slight showers and poured down at my dads as we enjoyed a cuppa. Continuing over Cardiff Bay Barrage we suffered a torrential downpour and took shelter at The Welsh Assembly building overlooking Cardiff Bay. There were a couple of demonstrations going on outside. One (see extra) was for Aid to Gaza with one of the most unpopular politicians, Lee Waters, in the centre. His decision to introduce a blanket 20mph on roads in Wales (very unpopular), amongst other issues, has seen support for Welsh Labour plummet! I predict in Wales general election in May 2026 they will be out of power after 25 years!
Much more interesting was the lovely reflection in the Welsh Government Building window of the Pier Head Building (part of the Welsh Government) and Cardiff Wheel.
On the way home to Herefordshire it poured down. Nice not to have to water the garden and have it a bit cooler. I understand another heat wave is on the way!
