River Derwent from Papcastle
Proper summer Cumbrian weather this morning. Heavy rain and low cloud. We were fully occupied though with various things to do.
We had another viewing of a house in Papcastle this afternoon, a village about a mile to the north of Cockermouth town centre. We walked to the property to see what the trip would be like, bumping into the Earthy blippers on our way.
Decided the house was not for us as it was three bedrooms and would have been a full renovation and extension project which could take up to a year to complete. And we would have needed to make a decision by tomorrow!
As the property information suggested the garden was superb, south facing, overlooking Cockermouth, the Vale of Lorton and the Western Fells. The views were fantastic. The traffic noise was surprisingly intrusive even at that distance.
Today’s blip is from the lower road into Papcastle.
As you all say, the right place will come up. We know we want to be in the town and not in the surrounding villages (well, at the moment!)
