The Nightingale Window
A wet day at long last. We had errands to complete in Ludlow so I was able to photograph another of the stained glass windows in St Laurence's church. Perhaps not as appreciated as the medieval Golden window (here) or the Palmers' window (here), this one dates from 1888 and is by Hardman & Co. It is known as the Nightingale Window from its dedication to a Miss Nightingale, the godmother of the benefactor. It depicts the entombment and resurrection. I do like the muted colours of these later Hardman windows.
