Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof

Literal translation: Life is no pony farm.
Meaning: Life can be challenging.

Over the last week, D enjoyed teaching me many German sayings, this is the one that I can actually remember, and the most apt one. 

Still feeling rough as old boots, still testing negative, still not up to visiting Dad in hospital today. Masked up, this afternoon my brother took me to a new care home to scope it out for future respite breaks. After tomorrow, my brother won't be home for another six months, not until after Christmas. Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof...

But in this blip, this really is a pony farm, taken on one of Punky's evening walks.
