Getting ready for battle….
A dry start , but it didn’t last. By 9am the rain had arrived and it was on and off all day.
Spent the morning mixing feed then power washed the Claas tractor. The radiators were full of stoor off the silage when I rolled the pit on Saturday morning as it was so dry. If you don’t muck everything out the next thing you know the engine has overheated.
Nipped away this afternoon for a hair cut and various other wee jobs.
When I got back , hitched up the round baler and gave it a power washed before we start using it. It never got washed at the end of last season as I’d rather not have it sitting wet all winter with water seeping in to all the bearings and electrics. Gave it a run at full revs for 20 minutes to dry off and check everything looked OK then stuck it back in the shed.
Hopefully by the time the weather fairs up I will be fit to sit on a tractor and bale as one of farms we get straw from is hoping to start cutting barley by the weekend.
We shall see….
