It was cold last night! 12degC, which is nice, but my joints felt it!
I had noted several different types of bulbs that we needed to get, the most important of which was the one for the walk-in cupboard. I couldn't unpack last night because of it. So, we set out into town; first stop - B&Q. They had the bulb, but it was twice what it cost online, so we moved on to Tesco to do a grocery shop. Realistically, we should have gone into town first to get our SIM cards, so it was more than a small problem trying to do that after a food shop. We discovered that they do not have large chiller bags here! Tesco didn't have them. Neither did Waitrose nor M&S. By this stage, I didn't think the pack of ice would hold up keeping the chilled stuff cold, so we headed back to the lodge for lunch and then out again to the High Street.
Road closures for a cycle race left us with just an hour to get what we needed done. We experienced the kindness of a stranger when a lady offered to help us pay for our parking using her Ringo account! She waited to make sure the machine accepted coins (it did) before she drove off! Amazing.
So, we have got local PAYG lines again! Two new numbers, but the incredibly friendly and helpful man in O2 let us choose easy numbers! Back home, I needed an earlier night to catch up on all the sleep I'd lost over the last few days. Oh! Sainsbury's had the freezer bags we were looking for. AND, we encouraged a busker - Tom - who played a couple of familiar worship songs for us! He was so hot standing in the sun, but kept going.
