The quays

Worked in the morning, left at lunchtime to drive to Manchester. Had a big fancy hire car which was very annoying with the oil light coming on just as I left Worthing. Rang the hire company who invited me back so they could have a look at it. Couldn't be bothered to waste the time so chucked a litre of oil in it and pushed on. It always takes six bloody hours but I listened to some very wonderful Tour de France podcasts which kept me entertained most of the way.

Arrived, put my swimsuit on and had a fab swim in the quays. I sometimes forget how restorative I find swimming, it was great. I have slight terror about the giant monsters that likely live in the depths but I pushed on. Felt nicely tired out and cock a hoop after and couldn't be bothered to venture far for my tea so the neighbouring beefeater it was for prawns, veg and chips. A couple had a huge row in front of me, he stormed off and I had a nice chat with Jane who is having a proper hard time of it at the moment. She had a good cry and we came up with a plan to help her a bit.

And the new sewing bee was starting as I got back to my room. How fab is that?!
