Eating out...
Physio appointment at the Health Centre this morning.
After discussing the problems I've been experiencing with my shoulder and examining me, she feels the problem stems from my neck. She's given me some exercises to do and went over them with me. Mainly stretches and as I was going through them I could feel the difference. The nerve pain seems to have gone, thank goodness, so I am hoping a few days of doing the stretches she's given me and the exercises recommended on the Versus Arthritis page will help get rid of the last of the aches.
We returned home for a little while then headed off to Thyme Bistro near Aberfeldy for lunch. The drive through the Sma' Glen was lovely as ever even though the mist was down and there was a fine drizzle of rain. Very atmospheric.
By the time we go there the weather had improved and it was dry, the sun even said hello a few times.
Although we've bought food from the wonderful delicatessen attached to the restaurant before, we've never eaten there. What a pleasure it was. An unusual menu with an eastern and South African influence, the food was delicious. D couldn't resist their cheesecake for dessert and having had their ice cream before (to take away) I opted for some mint choc chip. One of the best versions of that ice cream that I've had.
After lunch we had a wander in the shop and bought some of their homemade lasagne for dinner, along with a cob loaf, some tiny salted caramel pastries, sweet smoked paprika and a very expensive jar of grapefruit marmalade (D's treat as he loves marmalade :-)
We then popped into Aberfeldy to replace a mug for the crockery set we've been building up over a number of years, from a little shop there. Last year we finally completed the dinner set, coffee set and tea set and some serving dishes. Unfortunately D chipped a mug a couple of months ago and this has been our first chance to replace it.
After that we drove home, again through the Sma' Glen. I never tire of that route.
It was when we returned home that our run of bad luck continued. D lifted the bag containing the mug and the marmalade out of the boot and as he did so, one of the handles on the bag (it was a brown paper bag) snapped and the mug and the marmalade fell to the ground. Despite being wrapped in bubblewrap the mug chipped and cracked and the jar of marmalade smashed, so neither of them even made it into the house. Sigh.
Oh well, that gives us an excuse to return to the restaurant and deli. Every cloud.
The cute pair in my blip were enjoying their lunch just outside the restaurant. The garden was also full of geese, peacocks and the most stunning roosters. It is such a lovely place.
