GARDEN BUDDY
When I drove up the driveway, today, I
saw this FENCE LIZARD relaxing on
these stones. It was relaxing & was not alarmed when I came close. It looks to be
a mature adult.female, because the males have colorful blue stripes on their throat.
I see the lizards often in my gardens & in the neighborhood. They are welcome because
they eat mosquitos, ants, flies & grasshoppers among other insects. When they appear in Spring, it is a reminder that
snakes will be waking up from hibernation, too.
This is around the time they lay eggs, so we should be seeing TINY lizards, in August.
