Today's the day ..................... to wait

I know that most people that plant leeks in the garden, do so because they want to eat them, in some form or other.

My leeks never seem to grow very thick - and although, occasionally, I have been known to harvest a few, I would much rather just let them grow.  And if you do, you are rewarded with this delicately wrapped globe sitting on top of a long stem.  Eventually, when it's good and ready, the globe bursts open - to reveal the tiny flowers that will form the new seeds.

It's really quite amazing ....................!
