Shoe Shopping

We went to Peebles this morning to get a replacement cafetière. On the way down the High Street TM noticed that the shoe shop was having a sale, and he was in need in need of new sandals, and new trainers ... so in we went. And he found what he wanted ... but when it came to the purchase, only one of the trainers could be found. 
After a bit of head-scratching, one of the staff remembered that it might be   in the display case that they have up at Peebles Hydro. a phone call confirmed that it was indeed there and we could pick it up on our way past.

Once the shoes were reunited, I took the opportunity to nose around. It's an imposing relic of more expansive times. Marble halls and porticos ... and a wonderful view from the terrace. 

I hinted that it was lunchtime, but no luck ....
