Peacock #10
After a lovely shift at the Butterfly House we opted for a sunny walk at Pickering's Pasture to look for butterflies. There were loads of whites and gatekeepers, commas, meadow browns, common blues, peacocks, small coppers and a solitary Red Admiral. It was such a delight to see them all fluttering over the pasture after last years very poor showing - magical.
Once we got home we decided to empty the three bins of Anya potatoes that we’ve grown and got a good crop which has lasted us until Christmas the past couple of years :)
It took nearly two hours to separate the potatoes out, brush off most of the soil , repurpose the soil and clear up but we’re thrilled with our harvest and are looking forward to the first meal using them tomorrow.
