An ordinary life....

Decisions, decisions!

So far today, and I say this with caution, there's been no major disasters but there's still time!

Other than L popping round to remove my gel polish and give me a manicure (I'm giving my nails a rest from gel polish.  Will get them done again before going to Harris and Lewis at the end of August) and a phone call from the pelvic physio, oh and a visit from JR the smart home guy to finish off the update of our home systems, the bulk of the day has been getting organised for our Skye friends arriving on Saturday.

Bedrooms are ready, menus planned and Tesco online order complete.  I'm bound to have forgotten something but our newly refurbished Co-op opens tomorrow so can rely on that for anything else.  Going to enjoy the quiet of the next two days before the girls and Lola's pal Lily arrive.  Sadly Esme is on holiday in Spain so she won't get to see her wee pals this time.

But the most exciting thing to happen today is Ruth the jeweller I met with a few weeks ago, sent me over her sketch designs for making new jewellery from jewellery that belonged to my mum, that I never wear.  For sentimental reasons I didn't really want to part with it , but it seemed silly it sitting in a jewellery box unworn.  There were rings, some necklaces, a bangle and a beautiful faceted smoky quartz that she meant to have made into a pendant but never did.

Ruth has sent me nine pages full of designs for rings, necklaces, earrings and bangles.  I am gobsmacked!  It will take me ages to decide but I'm looking forward to going through her designs and making choices to discuss with her.  I suspect I won't have much time to do that until our visitors leave.

Can't believe it's a year ago today we headed to Loch Lomond for Andrew and Nikki's wedding the next day.  This year has flown by!!!
