Seriously?

Point of view

A less than comfortable day, and as I woke up at 6.00 knowing I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep, there were even more hours than usual in which to 'enjoy' my discomfort. Basically, it was just too damned hot. Back from walking the woofer and in time to chat to Hakan the pool man on his morning rounds, I then spent hours draped over various items of furniture, waiting for the builders/workmen to arrive, which they didn't do until 16.45 - though in retrospect, it was a good decision, to avoid the hottest hours in view of the work they were coming to do.

Over the next three hours the washing machine was moved from the kitchen up two flights of stairs to the roof terrace, a (new) small fridge was also carried there (somewhere to keep beers when lazing about up there hahaha). A few other things were moved too.  Mostly however, the work was painting the frames of the sliding glass windows recently installed on the craft room balcony, changing the anthracite grey (which I didn't like) to white, instantly making the space feel light and airy rather than like a prison cell. My job in all this? Well, I supplied icy cold water to drink and lots of grateful encouragement.

By the time they'd finished we were all damp and limp and I think it took me about three minutes between saying 'thanks and cheerio' and being in the pool where I stayed, almost motionless, for a considerable time before spending the rest of the evening on the roof terrace. How on earth these guys did all that work in this temperature, well, it puts my discomfort in to perspective.

It was bedtime when I realised I'd forgotten to take a pic - so I leaned over the balustrade for different point of view.
