Outing
An outing today with Fiona, Saskia and the dogs (Jess and Archie). We chose a river walk so that the dogs could cool down whenever they felt like it (and the path had plenty of shade as well).
We had planned to start in Annan but heard that the bypass was closed due to a lorry fire, and all the traffic was going through Annan and tailed back for miles…so started in Brydekirk instead . Stopped off at the cafe in Annan and then walked back on the opposite bank.
I found someone’s phone by a bench - noone in sight, so we took it with us in case they phoned it, which they did (several times) but the owner was Polish and spoke very little English. Eventually she texted us her address, so once we had finished our walk, we drove to Annan to deliver the phone. The woman came out with a rhubarb pie, which I gracefully accepted, and a £20 note, which I didn’t. Sas took the pie home to share with her man :-)
We had walked 7.24 miles. I was gasping for a cup of tea when I got in!
