Not my best haiku!
But I had my first video call with Ben today, in his new residential placement. I was worried he’d struggle seeing me and be sad or cross.. so I prepped a lot of up-beat things to say to him including some simple jokes :-) I am the queen of over thinking!!
I didn’t need it though, he was amazing!! He was warm and chatty, happy to see me but silly and funny and telling me snippets of news (no full story so I’m non the wiser really!!) I asked about food and his bedroom and he told me he’s growing runner beans and he is having peri peri chicken for tea. He said ‘ok bye’ and he was off. It was so heart warming, there will obviously be harder days ahead but today was a win and I’m feeling very buoyed :-)
