New Toy
Today started with some more planning for our curate's leaving lunch on Sunday. He's going off on paternity leave but will not be returning to our church as our new Rector will by then be in post. Next excitement was more admin for our new Rector's Institution service. It's all go.
I headed out to the Gyle next to look at new phones. While I was there I met one of my former pulls, now I'm his mid twenties, and his parents. He was a challenging young man and remains so, but they are very happy with his adult placement, which was good to hear.
I headed to the phone shop and decided on a Pixel 9 pro - my previous phone was a Pixel 7.
I'm very impressed with the new camera. The zoom is amazing, I'm hoping some of my pictures of birds etc will be much improved. This beautiful Magpie feather on our grass was taken from about 10 feet away. It was shimmering beautifully. I don't like the birds as such, but their feathers are beautiful.
The only things I appear to have lost in the transfer are the history of some of the online puzzles I do. I'm finding pairing the phone with Colin's car less than straightforward too. Why can't things just work?
