Custom and practice
The now customary emergency blip of a collage of Tain garden photographs, almost all from the front garden and just the leucanthemum from the side garden. There is also evidence that the indestructible nasturtium is back for another year, and this time it has flowers in orange and yellow. The flowers provide the colour in a fairly dull day of work, and indeed a fairly grey evening which has stopped us sitting out apart from briefly for a quick pre dinner drink.
There's a much more interesting photograph in the extras, from Friday's photo shoot, and obviously this is not just not from today (so therefore invalid as blip), but it also doesn't belong to me. The photographer is Stewart Attwood and the photographs belong to the RSE, but I think sneaking it into the extras is OK. It was my favourite among the hundreds taken. It was taken for the launch of the RSE's free festival of knowledge Curious. Lots of coverage in the newspapers today, including a picture of me on the front page of the EEN as part of a teaser for the story. I never thought that they'd put a picture of a middle aged woman on the front of the Edinburgh Evening News except to be snide about her!
