A Walk Around our Campsite
We slept in until 7:00. All that exercise yesterday wore us both out. And my heel let me know just how unhappy it was with me. I decided to give it a rest today. We are under a heat advisory which made that decision easier. After a hearty sausage and egg breakfast, Hubby rode his bike on another trail for almost 5 miles. While he was gone, I decided to check out the immediate area around our site. The most interesting find was the black mushroom, called “old man in the woods”. Some of these are the same type as I saw yesterday but look totally different. The third one on the top row is a peeling puffball and right under it is a violet gray bolete. We have European hornets, first frame, outside the door of our camper in a big oak tree and I found these Eastern yellowjackets in my travels. The tiny yellow flowers are possibly St. John’s Worts according to Seek and it identified the miniature white flowers as buttonweed. I made hubby a nice charcuterie for lunch, see extra. It seemed to fit with the day’s weather. And the fan is the only thing keeping us outside for our nap. I really love outdoor days but much prefer cooler temps. My mother, sister and BIL stopped by the house. I bought two pair of Sketcher shoes for Momma to try on. They arrived after we left. She picked her favorite while they were there. We are not sure what happened to the last couple pair we bought her. But now she will have variety. Wishing you fun choices. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by.
