Flutter
Finally a beautiful summers day, with all the ingredients. The butterflies are going crazy out there, my Budleia has opened for the season with its first flowers, competing with the lavender and all the other flowers.
It feels like it's been a lazy day, there's been a lot of sitting down outside, enjoying life in general but I also cleaned the last of the windows and helped Lena, my neighbour, with her idea to build a compost container from old pieces of wood that I have lying around. She wanted me to show how to use a handsaw. I showed her the rudiments on how to hold the wood and the saw when you begin, often the tricky bit and she was scared to hurt herself. After a short lesson she was left to herself and was mighty proud to have both measured and sawed the planks to length, for the first time in her life.
In the late afternoon I went to listen to a concert in a church south from here. A young pianist was playing "Pictures on an exhibition" by Modest Mussorgskij, a piece that I love and know fairly well through various recordings but never heard live. The pianist was a rather young woman, with a stunning technique and a lot of musicality. Fun to hear the new generation of musicians.
