Looking down onto Trusmadoor
A very good day in the Northern Fells with Jane, Adam and Brody the dog, taking in Great Calva and Knott in a 9 1/2 mile circuit from Peter House farm.
Today’s blip is making our way down to Trusmadoor with the footpath up to the amusingly named Great Cockup going up to the left and Meall to the right.
Most of the route was on footpaths that were not clearly marked at Rights of Way on the OS Map, some of the route was off piste especially coming down off Knott.
The weather was kind to us on the Northern Fells, good visibility all day and warm. Weather was so different to that promised which was showers. Skiddaw and Blencathra had their tops in the clouds though.
I stepped into a bog on the way to Great Calva, over my knee. Took some getting out of that leaving my boots and feet wet for the rest of the day and pink wrinkly feet when I took my socks off at the end of the walk.
A well deserved pint, crisps and nuts were enjoyed at the Pheasant at Crossthwaite at the end of the day.
