Manchester Bee
We went to Manchester today as Norm’s cousin wanted to see their old haunts from when they were children. Their grandma had a confectionery and sandwich shop next to the Daily Express. Obviously it did a roaring trade. Unfortunately it’s been knocked down now. The area around it has been regenerated now and looks good. A lot of the city looked disappointingly dirty but we didn’t get to the nicer parts near the cathedral and St Anne’s Square.
The Manchester Bee celebrates the nickname given to the mill workers, derived from worker bees.
