Flood water has receded after three days without rain and I was delighted to find a young pink-flowering bottle brush looking a bit battered but very much alive. It won't like being surrounded by deep sand and will be replanted.  Sadly, most of the other trees and shrubs planted along the eastern bank of the creek after ex-Cyclone Gita in 2018 have disappeared along with their protective drums, some fencing and a concrete well liner. Work on clearing the logs and forestry slash is progressing well and on Monday a 20 tonne digger will dig a huge hole in the nearby paddock and all the debris will be dumped in it.  The next job will be directing the creek back to its original position.. At present it's flowing 50 metres east of where it should be.
Thank you for your supportive messages after the second flood in two weeks.  They are much appreciated..
