Flower Week day5 Snow...

This is Florida Native Wildflower Snow Squarestem, Melanthera nivea.. It's a rather unique-looking plant and is a known 'bee and butterfly magnet'. Snow Squarestem is a relatively low-maintenance, fast growing plant that appreciates well-drained sandy soil, even soil with some clay, and full sunlight to partial shade. It deals fairly well with some drought but prefers consistent moisture with some 'drying out' between waterings. That being 'said', Snow Squarestem grows completely 'wild' in our yard. 'cause it's a native plant for heaven's sake! And for those of you facing the deer population explosion...this plant is not a primary food source for deer. Though, they will eat it if their preferred food plants are unavailable. Chomp, Chomp!
Wishing All of Us a Relaxing and Enjoyable Weekend!  m
