Remontant Flowering

I was surprised to see my local Magnolia flowering again after the Spring explosion. so some questions were asked of google.

Apparently some magnolia trees in the UK can flower twice in a year, although it's not typical for all varieties and the second bloom is often less prolific than the first. This is known as remontant flowering, which I have never heard of or seen before.  I will keep an eye on this tree over the next few weeks.
